TURA: In the wake of the abduction of two MeECL engineers from near Tura by suspected GNLA militants, the MeECL Engineers’ Association (MEA) and the Association of Power Engineers (APE), in an emergent meeting held recently at Lum Jingshai, Shillong, resolved to display appeal banners at every strategic location all over Garo Hills and at all MeECL offices across the State.
The meeting also resolved to move the MeECL management for boundary fencing at Rongkhon MeECL Complex, all vital installations, all MeECL office complexes and to ensure that security personnel posted in these installations, offices are armed.
The meeting also decided to request theQ management to depute senior officers in the rank of directors to liaise with District authorities regarding the abduction.
