Deimon Dkhar crowned Miss Tuber 2012

JOWAI: Sixteen-year-old, Deimon Dkhar of Tuber-Shohshrieh village- Jowai and a student of Tome memorial Secondary Schoolwas crowned 4th Miss Tuber 2012 at the Beauty Pageant held at Tuberkmai-shnong organised by the Sein Khynroo Khyllood Sein Raij Tuber on Saturday.

Besides Deimon Dkhar who was also adjudged as Miss Traditional, Panariki Ryngkhlem student of Seinjait Tuber Secondary School bagged the 1st Runner’s up and Miss Talented, Ibajanai Dkhar- a student of H.Elias Memorial Secondary School, Shillong as the 2nd Runner’s up whereas Wyrtada-karu of Wapungshnong, Sanida-karu Phawa of Sabahmuswang and Sanikaru Dkhar were adjudged Miss Congeniality, Miss Beautifull Smile and Miss Personality respectively.

There were 10 contestant in the beauty pageant. The beauty contest was organised to raise fund s for the Nongsyntoin Lower and Upper Primary School, Tuberkmai-shnong.JHADC MDC, Amos Dkhar graceed the beauty contest as the chief guest in the presence of various village heads and village elders of Tuber area.

The chief guest addressing the crowd said, “Young women should come forward and participate in such events so that they can exposed their gifted talents to the outside world.“We understand that Education is most important but any contest is also a part of the education and we must encourage our youngsters to come forward and take active part in such extra curriculum activities”, Dkhar said.
