AGARTALA: Former minister for Food and Civil Supply Sahid Chowdhury, who was dropped from the Left Front ministry in Tripura following alleged links with a Bangladeshi arms dealer, will be re-inducted, official sources said on Friday.

Chowdhury had resigned in April 2008 from the cabinet after a media report that he had alleged links with Bangladeshi arms dealer, Mamun Mia.

Chowdhury will be administered the oath of office at Raj Bhavan on Sunday by Governor D Y Patil, the sources said. Mamun Mia was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment by the Chief Judicial Magistrate court here for forging documents to secure Indian citizenship. (PTI)
