National integration camp concludes

 NONGSTOIN: The week-long National Integration Camp, organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Nongstoin (NYKS), concluded on Saturday.

The camp which started on January 7 saw the participation of over 150 youths from various parts of the country including Assam, Sikkim, Bihar, Darjeeling (West Bengal).

Youths from Jaintia Hills and East Khasi Hills took part in the week-long integration camp.

Speaking as the chief guest on the concluding day, MDC Nongstoin L.G.Nongsiej said, “Youth is the backbone of the society, youth is the spring of Life. It is the age of discovery and dreams. India is of largest youth population in the world today. The entire world is eyeing India as a source of technical manpower, they are looking at our youth as a source of talents at low costs for their future super profits.”

Sharing his experiences with the participants, Nongsiej said “As a youth, I never limited myself only to my business but I tried to lend out a helping hand to those young people who are in need of help especially those who have fallen prey to many ills of the society.”

Lauding the participants, Nongsiej also hoped that one day, they will emerge as leaders to lead the majority and make the future of the state and the whole country bright.

Prizes were given to the winners of various competitions which include- folk song, folk dance, quiz competition besides others wherein a group from Darjeeling (West Bengal) to bag the Best Team NIC 2012.
