Harisabha, Nongrim Hills through to Second Div SCL semis

SHILLONG: Harisabha defeated Paltan Bazaar by 21 runs while Nongrim Hills beat Peak Hawk by four wickets in the quarter finals of the Second Division Shillong Cricket League played at the Cricket Ground, Polo on Tuesday. In the first match, electing to bat first, Harisabha reached a competitive 127/7 in 20 overs. Sartak scored 25 while Wasim (2/21) was the pick of the bowlers for Paltan Bazaar. In reply, Paltan Bazaar fell short of the target by 21 runs as they were bundled out for 106. Sandeep scored 26 while Kunal and Sandeep bagged two wickets each for for Harisabha. In the second match, Peak Hawk won the toss and elected to bat first. The batters did well to score 130/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Sanbor top scored for his side with a steady 41 of 42 balls while Sunny grabbed three wickets for the bowling side. In reply, Nongrim Hills scored the winning run in the last ball to register a famous win. Sunny (39) and Andrew (34) were instrumental in taking their team total to 133/6. Ranjan took two wickets for the Hawks. Harisabha will play Nongrim in the first semifinal while Cluster play Madanriting in the second semis on Wednesday.
