Imphal: Representatives of ten political parties barring Congress on Sunday left for New Delhi to meet officials of the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding conducting repoll in the state.

The move was initiated following the cancellation of ECI’s earlier decision of sending three special observers to Manipur to discuss the issue of conducting repoll for the second time to all those constituencies where discrepancies were detected during the photo comparison process after repolling on February 4.

Though the election officials had stated that repoll may be done on March 1 or 2, Manipur CEO PC Lawmkunga said there would be no re-poll in any polling station. (UNI)
