‘Philately helps people learn facts about history’

SHILLONG: Governor RS Mooshahary on Monday stated that the Philately is a history written in a square inch paper which tells us about different subjects.

Addressing a gathering during the inauguration of the North East Postal Circle Level Philatelic Exhibition NEPEX, 2012 here on Monday, Mooshahary said that the philately is a hobby which helps people learn many facts about history.

The North East Postal Circle is organising the North East Philatelic Exhibition 2012 with an aim to encourage the youngsters to take interest in Philately.

Praising the Indian postal services for its dedicated services, Mooshahary termed it as a unique service which is playing an important role in serving the people.

Earlier, Chief Postmaster General, P T S Kumar informed that many philatelist are participating in the event.

It may be mentioned that around 1000 exhibits have been received from almost all the states of the country for the exhibition.
