Two Dibrugarh airport officials jailed

Guwahati: A special court ordered four years rigorous imprisonment to two officers of Dibrugarh airport on charges of corruption on Monday. Special court judge Justice Majik Ali ordered rigorous imprisonment to Jyotish Baruah and Kanak Sarkar for swindling money collected from the airport parking lot and a fine of Rs one lakh each.

A probe was earlier conducted by the aiport authorities following which the two were found guilty.

In another incident the headmaster of a government pre-primary school in Dibrugarh was suspended on being found of selling books meant for free distribution among the students. (PTI)
