JORHAT(Assam):Two youths were seriously injured when a tiger pounced on them in the Kaziranga National Park area on Thursday, officials said.

The two cowherds were grazing cattle in Gorajan area near Agratoli range of the Park when they were attacked by the Royal Bengal tiger Thursday morning.

The youths, who suffered injuries in stomach, back and arms, have been admitted to Jorhat Medical College Hospital in a critical condition, they said.

Villagers living close to the range had earlier reported to the forest department that a tiger was creating panic for the past several days killing seven goats and eight cows. (PTI)
