Industrial exhibition attracts crowd

 SHILLONG: The 29th District Level Industrial and PMEGP Exhibition underway at the State Central Library premises attracted a huge crowd on the second day on Friday.

The exhibition displayed various items such as tailoring, pickles, tyres, shoes, handicrafts, garments and a range of other products from all over the state.

A trader from Pynursla displayed various sizes of granite stones that are used for construction of building walls, walkways and other works.

The proprietor of the stall said that his stones are mainly supplied in Shillong and locally.Another such stall from Umlyngka displayed different types of handicrafts items made of wood and bamboos.

The trademark Tree Houses as seen in Garo Hills region besides wall hangings and other decorative items mark this stall. Locally grown tea leaves, fruit juice, honey are also on display from different parts of the state.

The unique part of the exhibition is that exhibiters from across the state are displaying their products under one roof which also indicates the diversified taste and the types of products/items one can expect from different regions of the state.

An entrepreneur from Mawlai displayed resoling tyres which he manufactures in his small factory in Mawlai.

There are also few stalls which displayed various confectionaries, cakes, pastries, biscuits and other eatables.
