Los Angeles: Taylor Swift maybe winning hearts with her soulful numbers but the country singer says she has always wanted to be an actress.

Swift made her big screen debut with the ensemble romantic comedy Valentine’s Day but now the 22-year-old is ready for a bigger challenge, reported MTV online.

“Acting is something I’ve been fascinated by my entire life,” Swift said.

Though she’s been reading scripts in her spare time for five years, Swift’s busy schedule hasn’t made it possible for her acting dreams to become a reality. “I would want to have the time, the ability and the love for something, the love for a character to where I could really make that commitment to it.”

Swift was, however, able to dabble in the world of film with a voice role in The Lorax, based on the popular book by Dr Suess. Zac Efron, Betty White, Danny DeVito and Ed Helms also lent their talents to the animated feature.

“What people don’t think about with character acting in the voice-over form is you’re making a lot of sounds. It’s very different from when you’re singing songs that you wrote. With this, you’re sitting there in a booth by yourself having conversations with no one.” (PTI)
