SHILLONG: The Mairang Assembly Youth Congress (MAYC) has reiterated its demand for upgradation of Mairang Civil Sub-Division to a district .
The MAYC has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma here on Monday seeking his consideration and cooperation in the matter.
The MAYC has claimed that the CM will send officials to inspect Mairang to see whether the same is good enough to be upgraded to a district.
“The people of Mairang are very sentimental about this issue which has been a long-pending issue ”, MAYC general secretary Michael Kharmuti told reporters here on Monday.
