Shillong, March 4: On the joyous occasion of the festival of colours, SPARK-Bringing Light to Lives organised a special Holi celebration programme for underprivileged and deprived children on Wednesday.
The celebration, which aimed at adding colours of fun and shades of joy to the children’s lives, commenced with the singing of the national anthem, followed by a heartfelt prayer service conducted by the children.
In their innocent voices, they prayed to the Almighty to fill every life with bright and beautiful colours, symbolising hope, happiness, and new beginnings.
Addressing the gathering, Shima Modak, Founder and President of SPARK, explained the true essence of Holi. She encouraged the children to understand the significance of the festival and to always walk on the path of righteousness, goodness, and unity.
The atmosphere soon turned vibrant as children participated enthusiastically in a joyful dance celebration. The spirit of Holi was reflected in their laughter and togetherness, as they celebrated without any discrimination, embracing one another in pure joy and harmony.
The event served as a reminder that celebrations need not be grand or extravagant. Even small gatherings filled with love and togetherness can bring immense smiles and renewed energy. The true spirit of Holi lies in leaving behind worries, forgiving differences, and looking forward to new beginnings with hope and positivity.
The celebration brought immense gaiety as delighted children joyfully applied colours not only to their friends but also to their teachers and others present, creating moments of shared happiness and unity.
Such acts of love and compassion strengthen our collective sense of interconnectedness with less privileged and deprived children. Through initiatives like these, SPARK continues its mission of bringing light, dignity, and opportunity into young lives.
We humbly request individuals, organisations, and well-wishers to come forward and extend their valuable support, so that we may continue working towards the cause of these underprivileged children and make every occasion special for them.
