SHILLONG: Forest Department ousted Meghalaya Secretariat by one run in a low-scoring thriller to reach the finals of the Inter Office cum Corporate T20 Cricket Tournament played at the Cricket Ground, Polo on Friday.

Forest were bundled out for a modest 109 after they chose to bat first. In reply, Meghalaya Secretariat fell short by a solitary run after a dramatic collapse despite a steady start by their top order. Babloo and Bhuwan bowled magnificently to restrict the batting side.

Earlier, in another low-scoring affair, NRHM defeated MLP by seven runs. Batting first, NRHM were restricted to 89 runs in 18.3 overs, thanks to the brilliant bowling by Kumar (3/11) and Morningstar (3/9). In reply, MLP never looked like winning even as they crawled to 82 in 17.4 overs falling seven runs short of the target. Sajied (3/15) was the pick of the bowlers for NRHM.
