NONGPOH: Thanks to the selfless and courageous act of a forty-year-old man, four kids were saved from engulfing flames which gutted their house completely on Friday afternoon last at Nongsangu under Mawhati Constituency.

The house belonged to one Mington Mawphniang. The parents of the four kids were not at home when the incident occurred.

As soon as fire began to engulf the house, Starwell Mangu, a neighbour, rushed inside the house and rescues the four children.

Local MLA Donbok Khymdeit appreciated Mangu for his selfless act and also provided the affected family with assistance.
