Office bearers

The Malki Sports Club elected new office bearers which include BM Lanong as president, B Sohlang as vice president, F Lakadong as general secretary, T Khongwir as assistant secretary, B Nongrum as treasurer, HP Oflyn Dohling as Adviser besides fifteen other executive members. Meanwhile, the KSU Laittyra Unit elected new office bearers including Mixbornson Shylla as president, Commonhome Shymbin as vice president, Onessimius Sun as secretary besides other members.

Registration

The district transport officer of East Khasi Hills has informed the public that in order to shorten the process for registration of new vehicles both commercial and personalized, payment of Road Tax, fees besides others by Bank Draft and A/C Payee cheque will be accepted by the DTO office in lieu of cash payment.

Campaign

The office of the Block Development Officer, Mawphlang Block organized an awareness campaign on social audit on the MGNREGS at St Paul’s higher secondary School Marbisu on Monday which was attended by many members of the VEC falling under Mawphlang Block. The Campaign was also attended by Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills Sanjay Goyal besides other resource persons.

Training

The office of the district home guards commandant, East Khasi Hills conducted a basic training to home guards volunteers at Mawphlang for 40 days from January. The basic objective of the training is to create in the trainees in particular and public in general a sense of alertness should any emergency arise in the locality.
