CM Tuki clarifies on Rs 58 lakh tour expenses in Assembly

Itanagar: Aruanchal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki informed the Assembly that during his four and half months time of assuming charges of office, a sum of Rs 58,49,800 lakh has been spent for official tour in eleven districts of the state.

Replying to a question raised by Laeta Umbray of AITC on the floor on the third day of the Eighth Session of the Fifth Legislative Assembly, regarding, total expenditure incurred from such tour from the state exchequer, Tuki informed that out of Rs 58,49,800, Rs 52,56,225 lakh has been spent on air charges, while, Rs 3,13,575 and Rs 2.80 lakh were used on as traveling and POL items purposes.

In an another question raised by Umbray about the total numbers of principal advisors, advisors and officers on special duty (OSD}s were appointed by each successive government during last three years.

Replying the question the chief minister said, during Late Dorjee Khandu had appointed one, in Jarbom Gamlin period it was two, while, during his time two numbers of principal advisors were appointed.

Regarding appointment of advisors, Tuki said, during Khandu’s period it was 14 numbers, in Gamlin’s time there was no advisor appointed, while, at present two numbers of advisors appointed.

In case of OSD, in Khandu’s time there were three, in Gamlin’s period it was four and this time three numbers of OSDs were appointed, Mr Tuki clarified.

He further informed the salary or honorarium, TA/DA and other facilities provided to each one of them were a ‘ principal advisors getting 50,000 as salary per month and Rs 5,43,243 has been spent as TA/DA purposes.

While, advisors were receiving of Rs, 25,000 per month as salary and Rs. 4,81,055 as TA/DA. However, OSDs were receiving their own government pay scale, Tuki added. UNI
