Life skills training for youths

SHILLONG: With an aim to open up boost employment opportunities among the youth in the state, the Nongkrem Youth Development Association in collaboration with the Meghalaya KHADI Village Industrial Board (MKVIB) organized a three-day workshop on Footwear & Leather Goods and a five- day Life Skills Training at Nongkrem recently.

This workshop was mainly to enhance the knowledge and skills to those youthinterested in this field by providing them with the right kind of information to go about at the same time, informing them about the various government schemes for this line.

The workshop was inaugurated by the local MDC Lambor Malngiang who is also the Chairman of the MKVIB.

Malngiang called upon the youths to take full advantage of such programmes while availing the schemes made available by the government.

The workshop was also attended by Myntri of Hima Khyrim Medistar Warbah, District Youth Coordinator- NYK, Shillong Dr Salam D Singh, Assistant Registrar of IGNOU (IIVET) Weidamon Kharnaior, Deputy CEO of MKVIB, T Wanniang besides others.
