Guwahati: Now if your are hooked to the network of Reliance Mobile being a subscriber, you are bound to be made part of the efforts of conservation of wildlife in Assam.

An innovative Short Message Service campaign will soon be launched to make people aware of the need to let the wildlife flourish together with the fast paced developments of the modern world.

Aaranyak, a premier biodiversity conservation organisation in North East India, has joined hands with Reliance Telecom for the noble purpose of spreading conservation awareness in the state of Assam.

As part of the proposed joint initiative, every month Aaranyak will focus on a key wildlife species from Assam as the ‘Species of the Month’ and conservation messages related to the species selected for the month will be sent to subscribers of Reliance Telecom in Assam.

Keeping in mind the increasing conflict between Leopard and human in the state of late, Aaranyak has decided to promote conservation of Leopard as the Species of the Month for April 2012. This will surely change the views of people who look at the animal only as a blooming threat. Every Sunday conservation messages to enhance awareness on the species shall be shared using Reliance Telecom. This joint initiative is expected to raise the level of awareness among the masses for conservation of species unique to Assam amon
