Storm, rain threaten today’s Daredevils vs KKR match

Kolkata: Bad weather in this metro and neighbourhoods has threatened Thursday’s IPL match between hosts Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils at Eden Gardens here.

Gusty winds followed by thunder showers also hampered Daredevils as well as KKR’s practice session when storms and rains lashed Eden Gardens.

Though the main pitch where play would start at 8pm on Thursday was covered, the groundsmen hurried with tarpaulins covering other specified areas to avoid getting drenched.

The rains and winds, which blew over 60 kmph, however, brought relief to the people of Bengal, as reports of rain also pouring from other districts.(UNI
