Lafarge Umiam Mining bags five awards

 SHILLONG: The Lafarge Umiam Mining Pvt Ltd (MUMPL) has bagged five awards at the 4th mines Environment and Mineral Conservation Week 2011-2012 held at Guwahati on Monday.

LUMPL received the firstprize in three categories-Dust Suppression Arrangement, Installation and usage of Mechanical Beneficiation Facilities and Community Development.

The second prize was awarded in the category of top soil management and sedimentation (water management).

CS Gundewar,Controller General, Indian Bureau of Mines graced the programme as the Chief guest and Ranjan Sahai Chief Controller of mines, was the guest of honour during the event.

Commenting on the accomplishment, Head of Mining operations LUMPL Amit Dubey said, “ LUMPL is committed towards compliance of all norms relating to mine environment and conservation of mineral and also the development of the community.”
