Vidya Niketan, St Anthony’s register wins

SHILLONG: Buddha Vidya Neketan defeated Ruprekha School by 113 runs while St.Anthony’s Higher Secondary School defeated Shillong Secondary School by five runs in the 7th I.P. Das Memorial and 4th Babu Ondromoni Dkhar Memorial Cricket tournament at Cricket Ground, Polo on Thursday.

In the first match, Buddha Vidya Neketan won the toss and elected to bat first piling up a huge score of 202 runs for the loss of six wickets in 25 overs. In-form batsman Amiangshu Sen top scored with a magnificent 95 of 66 balls while Anil grabbed two wickets for 23 runs of his four overs. In reply, Ruprekha School surrendered meekly for 89 runs in 14.1 overs.Ajay scored 17 of 18 balls while Purna Joshi picked three wickets for 14 runs.

In the second match.St.Anthony’s Higher Secondary School’s decision to bat first backfired when they were bundled out for 89 runs in 24.2 overs.

Heshwia scored 14 of 24 balls while Mirdul took three wickets for 13 runs of his four overs. In reply, Shillong Secondary School fell five runs short of the target, losing all their wickets at the score of 84. Lakhan scored 36 of 49 balls while Vijay grabbed four wickets.
