India’s first cricket reality show

SHILLONG: Arbinda L. Basumatary of the Shillong Cricket Association would join Sushant Roy in India’s first cricket reality show, Cricket Champs organised by Indraprastha All India Sports Foundation (IAISF) to hunt for talented young cricketers from the country’s hinterland .

Arabinda was selected to represent in the under-22 team in the show.

The show is an initiative taken by IAISF, an NGO, along with some former and present Indian cricketers like Kirti Azad , Akash chopra, Irfan and Yusuf Pathan alongside few other international players to discover the hidden talents across the country.

Arbinda plays for TNT-Sputnik in Shillong Super Division League and has represented Meghalaya Cricket Association in the Under 19 in 2009-10 and Under 22 in 2010-11, 2011-12 season in BCCI’s Associate members tournaments. Arbinda has also been selected as a stand-by captain in one of the eight teams that will feature in the show. “It was very competitive. We were selected among thousands of candidates,” he said from New Delhi. This tournament will be judged by many Cricket Guru’s who have represented in National and International levels.
