JSU apprehend one for disposing fly-ash

 JOWAI: Members of the Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) apprehended a truck driver for illegal disposal of fly-ashes along the National highway NH-44 in Jaintia hills district on Friday. The driver, Hilal Riang was later handed over to police who seized his vehicle (MP17HH-0984).

JSU President, Elnathan Pale informed that the said truck driver illegally disposed about seven bags of fly-ash on the road side at Khliehtyrshi on Friday when some locals spotted him. The JSU also lodged a complaint with Jowai Police against the truck driver who had also violated the section 144 CrPC imposed by the Jaintia hills Deputy Commissioner to ban such illegal disposal of fly-ashes along the roadside.
