SHILLONG: The two-day Mawprem fest 2012 will kick off at the Rilbong Ground on Saturday at 10 am.
Ten localities of Mawprem Assembly Constituency will vie for honours at the unique “fest”.
The event which is being organised by the Ardhendhu Chaudhuri Charitable Trust would be inaugurated by General Administration Department (GAD) Minister AL Hek. The Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh will be the chief guest at the beauty pageant on May 13. “Meghalaya Brand Ambassador”, celebrated singer Amit Paul will make a special appearance on the concluding day.
The highlights for the inaugural day of the event are tug of war, arm wrestling, housie, antakshari and dance (solo).Other attractions of the day include sack race, football and memory test.All the competitive events would start from 12.15 pm onwards.
