Chumukedima (Nagaland): Nagaland Governor Nikhil Kumar on Tuesday urged the Nagaland Police to work with more devotion to the people of the state.

Addressing as the chief guest of the observation of the Nagaland Police Day here at the Nagaland Armed Police Centre at Chumukedima, near Dimapur, Mr Kumar said the award of colours to any police force is a matter of great prestige, honour and privilege.

The very fact that the colours are awarded by the country’s highest constitutional functionary, the President.

This in itself, is an indication that the decision to award the colour has been taken contingent upon merit and therefore, Nagaland Police force deserves compliment that it got its colours after only twenty one years of its existence and it has to stand up to it at all times.

The governor congratulated the Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP) for conceptualising the programme of the day and lauded the success of the programme. (UNI)
