NONGPOH: Making a clarion call to the students’ community, Ri Bhoi Students Union (RBSU) President Tynshain Lapang on Friday sought support from the students for their demand of setting up a Government College in Umsning.

The call for support came a day after the RBSU submitted a memorandum to the State Government on Thursday for setting up the college with all three streams viz., Arts, Science and Commerce in Umsning for the benefit of students from areas of Umroi, Mawhati and Umsning as well as adjoining areas.

Lapang said that they will organise awareness campaigns in order to mobilize support for their demand. He was speaking at a function held for handing over of football jerseys donated by the RBSU to the football team of Nongjri Presbyterian Secondary School near Umsning about 35 kilometres from here.
