SHILLONG: Come May, Bob Dylan fever seems to grip the pine city of Shillong. One of the most celebrated poet, singer and songwriter of his time, Dylan turns 71 on Thursday. And like every other year, the city is gearing up to celebrate the Bard’s birthday with pomp and gusto.

The event would be celebrated for the 40th year this time and has been aptly named “Knocked Out & Loaded” as it promises to celebrate in the true spirit of the occasion with performing artists Whirling Kalapas which is fronted by Uday Benegal (of Indus Creed fame), Ace Of Spades (All Star Band) and coming all the way from the United States of America – Parker Ainsworth & Jeff Harding and Skye apart from the man who has always been the soul of the annual celebrations, Lou Majaw.

This event, to be managed by CPEN and IMAGENATION, will be a three day music and arts festival, starting from May 24 at Cloud 9 followed by an Acoustic music and Poetry reading session at Cafe Shillong May 25, featuring well known poet and writer Desmond Kharmawphlang (HOD cultural and creative studies, NEHU Shillong) , writer & poet Kynpham Sing Nongkynrih and others.

The celebrations would finally culminate at the scenic Orchid Lake Resort on Saturday. Uday Benegal of Indus Creed fame and his band The Whirling Kalapas will perform at the venue.
