Shillong: Tura’s MP Stadium is all set to host the silver jubilee edition the of Meghalaya State Athletics Meet for Under-14, 16 and Senior categories starting on Wednesday.
The Meet is organized by Meghalaya Athletics Association in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and Tura District Association. Deputy Chief Minister Bindo M. Lanong will inaugurate the sporting event while Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma will attend the closing ceremony.
The overall champions will carry home Late Wood Ward Sholiya trophy.
According to the organizing secretary Finely Pariat, 450 athletics had arrived till 6 pm on Tuesday. “Weare expecting more participants to arrive before the commencement,” he said.
