Five cops nominated into MPS

 SHILLONG: The State Government has nominated five senior police inspectors into the Meghalaya Police Service (MPS).

With this nomination, the senior inspectors have been promoted to the ranks of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) which is in accordance with Rule 7 (1) (b) of the Meghalaya Police Service Rules, 1996.

As per a notification issued on Friday, the five senior inspectors who have been nominated included Ian Onel Swer, Officer In-charge of Sardar Traffic Branch, Anik K Sangma, Sadeep Kumar Biswa, Restina Pathaw and D William Kharbuki.

Ian Onel Swer has been appointed as the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in charge of Sohra, East Khasi Hills, Anil K Sangma as Assistant Commandant of 2nd MLP battalion, Geoagre, Sadeep Kumar Bisaw as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) of Ri Bhoi district while Restina Pathaw and D William Kharbuki have been promoted as Assistant Commandant, MLP 1st battalion, Mawiong.
