Ex-JSU leader to contest from Mowkaiaw

 JOWAI: Former JSU President, Charles C Phawa will contest from the Mowkaiaw seat in Jaintia Hills in the forthcoming 2013 Assembly Elections.

Phawa’s candidature was approved in a general meeting of the Dorbar Shnong of Mukroh village held on Saturday. Earlier, the Executive Committee of the village council had decided to nominate a candidate for the Mowkaiaw seat and the JSU president, who is also a resident of the village was selected as the candidate.

Besides the former JSU President, sitting NCP MLA, ECB Bamon, senior most politician and Former UDP MLA, Mihsalan Suchiang, former District Transport Officer, Riminus Syngkon and JHADC Deputy Chief Executive Member, Qually Suiam are all in the fray to contest for Mowkaiaw seat.
