SHILLONG: No one has claimed the body of the unidentified woman found on the Shillong Club premises on Friday.

The post-mortem of the naked body of the woman, aged around 35, found beneath the Assam type house of Rotary Club inside the Shillong Club premises was conducted on Saturday.

“There were injury marks on her ribs as per the statement of the doctor who conducted the post-mortem,” M. Kharkrang, SP (Shillong city), said adding that her liver was also damaged. The police have started investigation into the matter and the rape angle could be ascertained only after getting the full post-mortem report. “Since we have registered a murder case, we will be questioning the suspects this connection”, Kharkrang added.
