High level Indo-Bangla team to visit Tripura on June 9

 Agartala: Bangladesh Prime Minister instructed her aides to look into the matters related to the Northeast region and take up with the Indian authority without any delay.

This came when CMs and Ministers of Northeastern states called on Bangladesh Prime Minister in her official residence- Gana Bhavan in Dhaka on May 31 in the sideline of the third North East India-Bangladesh Business Conclave.

They had hour long cordial discussions on various issued related to the Northeast region.

The state was represented by Industries and Commerce Minister Jitendra Chowdhury Minister and Chief Secretary SK Panda.

The Prime Minister had minutely heard all the issues and immediately instructed her aides to look into the matters and do the needful.

The delegation also met Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni and had discussed on the ongoing issues related with Bangladesh and Tripura.

Dr. Moni has firmly reiterated to fulfill all the commitments on the part of Bangladesh.

Chowdhury who returned from Dhaka on Sunday night told media that a high level Indo-Bangla team will arrive here on June 9 next to inspect the Land Customs Stations along the international border.

During two-day visit, the team will visit Raghna (North Tripura), Akharura (Agartala), Srimantapur (Sonamura) and Sabroom, proposed site for LCS.

To prepare the ground works, High Commissioners of both sides will arrive here on June 5 next.

They may hold meeting with top government officials during the visit.

They might visit the sites for proposed border haats to carry forward the process. It may be noted that the Centre had already approved a proposal setting up four border haats along the border.
