SHILLONG: Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday asked the State Government to remove the various taxes levied on petrol to tide over the current crisis.

“If Central and State Governments reduce their taxes, the prices of petroleum will come down,” he told reporters here on Wednesday.

According to Paswan, the Central Government should not be blamed for price rise and corruption.

“Corruption is increasing and all should fight it,” Paswan who is the member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances and Law and Justice, told reporters during his visit to Shillong.
