Environment Day Celebrations
The Management & Employees of M/s. Green Valliey Industries Limited celebrated the Environment Day by Planting 697 Plants at the Green Belt site of factory located at Nongsning, Jaintia Hills. Various programmes were held to commemorate the event.
Entrepreneurship Development
Shillong College will organise a one-day workshop on Entrepreneurship Development: Opportunities and Challenges in the North Eastern Region at its conference hall on Friday at 10.30 pm. NEC secretary UK Sangma would grace the inaugural function of the workshop as the chief guest.
Intl Day Against Drug Abuse
As a part of the observation of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Social Welfare Department will organise a series of programmes at the districts from June 11-25. Students from schools and colleges will participate in the event.
Capacity building
The Meghalaya AIDS control society will organize a one-day state level capacity building and sensitization training on HIV and AIDS for the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) at Don Bosco Youth Centre from 10am onwards on Friday. 110 participants from different circles and units of the organization will be attending the training.
Felicitation
The Pynthor Umkhrah constituency progressive people’s committee would like to congratulate all the youth of the constituency who have come out successfully in the different boards examination. Music Concert
The Aroha Music and Cultural Society which was formed in 2008 to uplift arts in the State has decided to host artists who have worked hard at their craft and who pursue excellence. The auditions will be held shortly for further concerts.
Dead body
One unidentified male dead body aged 25-30 years was found lying by the road side at Puriang NH 44 o Tuesday at around 6pm. The deceased is having a tattoo marked in the shape of a sword on the bicep of his right hand the dead body is kept at the morgue room of civil hospital Shillong for identification.
