4 held for attempted arson on Rapsang’s vehicle

 SHILLONG: The police on Saturday arrested four persons in connection with the recent attempted arson case where the vehicle of M Rapsang, one of the Indian National Congress (INC) ticket aspirants from 18 Shillong West Constiutuency, was torched and partially damaged by miscreants.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ferdinant Wahlang (24), Austin Kharnaior (28), Wansalan Dkhar (25) and Donald Raplang, all hailing from diffeent localities of Mawprem.

The vehicle was torched when it was parked at Pdengshnong, Lower Mawprem. All the arrested persons have been remanded in five days police custody.

As per the police, petrol was poured inside the vehicle after the miscreants had broken the windshield of the car before setting it ablaze. Earlier, Jaiaw legislator Paul Lyngdoh had also condemned the incident.
