SHILLONG: Leader of Opposition and NCP legislator from Selsella, Conrad Sangma, has said that the ANVC (B) threat to the 24 MLAs will not help in solving the problems of Garo Hills.

The breakaway faction of the ANVC had issued a ten-day deadline to the 24 legislators of Garo Hills to alleviate the woes of the common people which include water supply and improvement in power scenario, and threatened to prevent the legislators from entering Garo Hills if they failed to look into the issues.

Sangma said their concern was genuine, but added that threatening MLAs will not solve the problems.

“MLAs can’t do anything until the ruling party addresses the problems of Garo Hills,” he said.
