SHILLONG: UDP legislator Ardent M Basiawmoit (Nongkrem) on Wednesday said he would reply to the notice served by his party as per his own convenience.

“I would not abide by any deadline. I would give my reply when I feel appropriate,” Basaiawmoit said.

On Tuesday, UDP working president Paul Lyngdoh had said that the party was expecting a reply from Basaiawmoit within one week.

On May 17 last, party general secretary BG Momin had issued the notice giving Basaiawmoit one month to clarify his stand on whether he would contest next year’s Assembly election on a UDP ticket.
