TURA: The Indigenous Citizen Forum of Simsanggre (ICFS) demanded immediate action against the ‘erring’ officer in charge, Selsella Police Outpost for allegedly unlawfully assaulting ICFS general secretary and Congress district organiser Arun Marak and his family recently.

In an emergent meeting at Williamnaagar on Sunday, the ICFS termed the behaviour of the police as communal which accounted to Human Rights violation.

President of ICFS, Panseng M Sangma said, “The action of Shadap and his team who targeted Marak and his family for belonging to Williamnagar is a clear case of Human Rights violation. The erring police team will have to apologise to Arun Marak and the Garo Community as a whole.”

ICFS President also informed that the people of Williamnagar will hold general public meetings, rallies and bandhs, if no action is taken against the officials.
