National conference

The Synod College and PA Sangma Foundation will organise a national conference on ‘Sixty years of working of parliamentary democracy in India: Experiences and prospects’ in the conference hall of the college at 10am on Wednesday and Thursday. Dr Subhash C Kashyap, former secretary general of Lok Sabha will attend the function as the chief guest.

Yogomaya Ashram

The Bigraha Pratishtha Utsav of Shri Shri Thakur Suryananda Paramhansa Dev and Shri Shri Sarajprabha Devi (Boro Maa) will be celebrated at the Ashram premises from June 28-29. An Adibhash progremme will be organised on June 28 (6pm onwards) while the Bigroho Pratishtha Utsav (from dawn to dusk) will be held on June 29.

NCPgeneral council

The general council of the NCP, Nongkrem Block will be held on July 2 at the Dorbar Hall, Laitkor Rngi at 10am to strengthen the NCP, Nongkrem block from the grassroot level so as to prepare for the upcoming MLA election 2013. The leaders from the district and state level will also be present in the meeting.

Survival meet

The State Cancer Society of Meghalaya and the Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Shillong Civil Hospital will jointly organize a ‘Survival Meet’ for cancer patients of the state on Wednesday in Civil Hospital Hall at 11am.

Drawing competition

The Sienlang Seinraij Shillong (youth wing of Sein Raij Shillong) will organize a sit and draw competition on Saturday at Sein Raij Hall, Qualapatty. Registration begins at 10am and the competition is scheduled to start from 12pm.

Blood donation camp

The Red Ribbon Club, BBS College in collaboration with the NSS and NCC will be organizing an awareness cum blood donation camp on Wednesday at the regional blood bank, Pasteur Institute at 11am.
