Socio economic data

The Chief Executive Officer, Jowai Municipal Board & In-charge Officer Socio Economic and Caste Census, SECC-2011, has informed that the socio economic data enumerated during SECC-2011 (except data on caste) will be put in public domain. Therefore, any households not wanting to share their data in public should submit a written request in the format prescribed by the office, within 15 days to designated Charge Officer (BDO/Tahsildar/Sub-Collector/Other) for the SECC-2011 from the publication of the notice. Forms are also available in the Office of the Jowai Municipal Board.

Medical camp

The B.S.W. student’s in collaboration with the N.S.S of St Edmund’s College will conduct a Free Medical Camp and Free Eyes Check Camp with doctors from the DMHO and Bansara Eye Centre, on July 2 at Iewrynghep village under the jurisdiction of Mawkynrew C & RD block .

Career counselling

The Meghalaya Youth Foundation in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Network for Positive People (MSNP+) will organise an awareness campaign on “Career Counselling, Substance Misuse & Stigma and Discrimination on HIV/AIDS” at Good Shepherd Higher Secondary School at Jongksha, East Khasi Hills District on Friday.

Missing boy

A six-year old boy was found in the Mihmyntdu Village in the Jaintia Hills District. The boy who stated his name as Chamki and sometimes Kamney was later handed over to Jowai Police. Anybody having any information about his parents/relatives can contact CHILDLINE Shillong or the nearest Police Station.
