Prohibitory orders

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills has prohibited the assembly of five or more persons and sit in protest in front of the Governor House. The order came from the Deputy Commissioner in view of the proposed protest march and sit in protest in front of the Governor House by KSU, GSU and members of the NESO on Friday.

AIR transmission

The All India Radio Shillong will extend its transmission on FM Channel from July 1 on 103.6 MHtz. This channel will be known as FM JONGPHI and shall be on air from 9am to 5pm which opens a room for conversations, telephonic counseling, songs and hourly traffic updates. It will have a special show of one hour from 4pm to 5pm which shall feature theme based presentation.

Missing

One Abbas Ali(20) has gone missing from Bhutia Market May 22. He left the place by stating that he would be going to his home town Dhubri but till date there is no information of his whereabouts. One person identified as Larshiwell Kharbangar (28), a driver by profession has gone missing since June 25 and a case in this connection has been registered in Laban police station.

Death condoled

The Shillong Bar Association in its emergent meeting has condoled the demise of N R Laitphlang who was an advocate. He expired on June 26 at the KJP Synod Hospital.

Foundation stone

The Meghalaya Hindu Mission is going to begin its long awaited mega project, construction of the Parthasarathi Temple in the mission premises. In that view, the foundation stone laying ceremony will be held on Friday at 5pm.
