NONGPOH: Following the dictatorial dissolution of the Umsning UDP Block Committee which also affected the UDP Women’s Wing which was also arbitrarily dissolved by its president JJ Kylla who failed to get the party ticket from Umsning, the UDP Women’s Wing was reconstituted on Saturday last at a meeting held at Umsning.
The meeting was attended by party candidate FM Mawphniang and the UDP Umsning Circle president Gilbert Nongrum and over 200 hundred active women workers of the party.
Sofia Kharkrang was elected president of the women’s wing and with her three vice presidents – Drophi Lyngdoh, Perisha Khardewsaw and O Phiolin Syiem, while Jenny Lyngdoh was elected general secretary.
Other office bearers include Jiyola Ryntathiang, S Kylla, Pynhunlin Dkhar and Wantimai Wahlang.
Resignation
The vice president of the UDP Mawlai circle block T Kharkongor and some few members of the party and supporters from Mawlai Mawroh UDP unit have tendered their resignation from in the party.
