TURA: The Garo Students’ Union (GSU), Western Zone, Dadenggre has lodged a complaint against Muzibur Rahman, a gram sevak, for cheating the villagers of Dimakgre, Dugalgre and Dajugre by usurping money sanctioned to the villagers under the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY), meant to provide fund to BPL families for construction of dwelling houses.

GSU has alleged that the gram sevak had deceived the unsuspecting villagers into drawing the sanctioned amount and giving the money to him, saying that he would take up the task of constructing the houses himself as it would be a problem for them.

The students’ body complained that after receiving the money, Rahman started construction of some houses in 2010 but has left them half done till date.

The Union also called for appropriate action against Rahman for deceiving the poor and illiterate villagers.
