Five KSU members arrested

 SHILLONG: Police on Monday arrested five KSU members of Mawpen Unit for allegedly extorting money from vehicles at Trongpleng near Mawsynram, East Khasi Hills district.

The arrested persons are identified as Spainbor Khardkhew, president of the KSU unit, Raymond N Syiem, vice-president, Albert Kharbani, Danny Suna and David Wanniang.

Sohra Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ian Swer informed that the police arrested the KSU members red handed at Trongpleng.

Police seized Rs 3,500 from them.

All the accused have been booked under section 384/506 0f the IPC and they have been forwarded to court.
