The Shillong Golf Course no longer enjoys the position of being one of the best golf courses in the North East. This golf course, which was once considered a paradise for golfers, has now become a picnic spot. People litter and dirty the ground, thereby making the golf course filthy and unpleasant. For some young people, there is no distinction between a golf course and a play ground as they play all sorts of games in the golf course. The concerned authorities should act fast to restore it to its original pristine glory so that Shillong can play host to national and international level golf tournaments in the years to come.
