SHILLONG: A late goal by Victor Shadap ensured Langsning FC an important victory against Shillong Lajong FC on Saturday at the JN Stadium, Polo Grounds.

A goalless first half that was dominated by Shillong Lajong FC, in terms of possession, did not stop Langsning from pressing for the lead.

Opportunities were carved out and both sides had their chances, especially in the first half, but there were no goals produced by either team.

Shillong Lajong FC almost took the lead in the 38th minute when Henry took a long shot that was brilliantly saved by Langsning’s custodian, Tungshang.

Then in the 58th minute, Rollingson had a good opportunity to score, but his free kick sailed just inches over the crossbar.

Despite being pushed against the wall on several occasions, Langsning refused to buckle under the pressure.

Instead they counter-attacked and in the 77th minute, their efforts finally paid off.

Nabachandra Singh made a quick ground pass to Victor who pushed the ball into the net and gave Langsning the crucial lead.

Shillong Lajong were technical in their approach and worked hard to retain ball possession throughout the game. However, that was not enough for them and eventually, Langsning went one better.
