Academic Excellence Award

The Academic Excellence Award 2012 only for the students who secured 1st division in the SSLC and HSSLC examinations 2012 will be awarded by the Nongkrem Assembly Youth Congress (NAYC) in the month of August. Interested students can send their applications before August 25.

 Crematorium

The Shillong Electric Crematorium will remain closed from July 21 till July 23 on account of servicing and maintenance.

All India Radio, Shillong will hold a conclave of eminent persons from the state on Thursday from 11 am. The issue to be discussed in the conclave is the prevailing scenario of music in Meghalaya with reference to classical and western music.

 Eco Fest

The Rising Sons social, sports and cultural organization is organizing a one-day “Eco-Fest”-Save catchment campaign in Lawsohtun and adjoining areas on July 21. There will be a musical evening at St John Bosco School, Lawsohtun in the later part of the programme.

 Accident

A mother and her one-day-old baby sustained injuries when the car (MLO5D – 2795) they were travelling on, had a head on collision with a Mahindra Pick Up truck (MLO5D – 1917) coming from the opposite direction near the Advance Landing Ground, Air Force at 7th Mile, Upper Shillong on Tuesday night.
