Two minors, 2,000 houses swept away by flood

Kathmandu: Two minors were swept away and around 2,000 houses destroyed on Thursday after incessant rainfall across Nepal triggered a flood.

An eight-year-old boy was swept away by swollen river in Rukum district while a 15-year-old boy was swept away in Dhankuta district due to flooded river. Similarly, 2,000 households have been swept away by flood triggered by incessant rain in Dang district of western Nepal today. More than 4000 people have been affected due to the flood in the rivers of Sishaniya, Laalmatiya and Sonpur villages in the district.

Meanwhile, a team of Armed Police Force and Nepal Army, has been mobilised in the affected areas for carrying out relief work, according to officials. (PTI)
