1st Students’ Book Fair in Tura

 TURA: For the first time in Garo Hills, the District Education Department will organise a Students’ Book Fair – 2012 under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), for secondary school students of South and West Garo Hills from July 25-27 at Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School here.

The book fair will be inaugurated by Professor Eugine Thomas, Pro-vice Chancellor, NEHU, Tura Campus on July 25 and about 15 to 20 book publishers both local and national will participate in the fair.

District Education Officer said that the Book Fair is being organised with an objective to develop good reading and writing habits in children and that the three- day programme is going to be a fun filled event with varieties of games, competitions and shows.West Garo Hills, DC, Pravin Bakshi will attend the inaugural function as the guest of honour.
